Welp truss rod won't budge so I'm stuck with the action I guess. Buyer beware eh.

Time for a super low tension set of strings.
It should be fairly safe to give it some muscle while loosening, then you can clean, lubricate, and maybe add a spacer washer. Or take it to a tech if that's too invasive for you, doesn't sound like anything outside a regular setup.

Tried to yeah, but the nut is also kind of stripped. So can't risk it. Will see how it goes with lighter tension strings (which i prefer anyway). Then if the action is still too high I'll take it in. I don't mind high-ish action and it plays so good as it is.

Yeah, best not to strip it more. Stewmac sells tapered hex drives for this kinda thing, and you could find a replacement nut if you got it off. Just seems a shame to let it continue to bow and gain any more memory than it already has, ya know.

Yah truth. Although $150-200 for a luthier could just play it and replace the neck if I need to. I wonder if JMJ necks fit?

Congrats! It looks like it's in good shape aside from the truss rod issue. Blue and shell pink are the rarest birds of this bass. It would be heresy to replace the neck, IMO. If you get it repaired, its value will continue to rise.
