So that's what the Sonic P is? A P with a J neck? Any other differences? I was wondering about the Sonic.

J neck, fret tangs were filed back before install so the ends are super clean
The polyurethane on the back of the neck is thin and or satin, so it’s not a huge, sticky mess like some of the other ones are
The tuners and the bridge or what you would expect out of a $200 bass
Pick up is rather exceptional actually. Ran it through the same ma’am, against four other P basses in the store and this one has the best sound.
I have pulled off the crusty, ancient strings, de-gunked the fretboard, and polished the frets. One of the machine heads was damaged so I ended up replacing them.
It has cleaned up rather nicely if I may say so myself.

I find plain white pickguards look bland on a Sunburst finish. I also find the pearloid pickguard to be very limited in tasteful and/or appealing applications. This is one of those applications, that looks great combined with that neck. The inlays, the binding and pickguard combined, all look great together.
In the club again, after about 12 years without a Squier:
If it was me, I'd contemplate swapping the hardware on those two basses.
Or alternatively, I might try swapping the pickguards and see how that looks. But either way, I think the hardware from the one bass belongs with the pickguard from the other bass.

Given the yellow-ish tint of the top neck, I'd put the gold hardware on that bass.

I recently picked up a 2007 Precision Special, P-J made in Indonesia. It needs some TLC and I’d like to replace the yellowed pickguard with a nice black or dark tortoise pickguard. Almost every pickguard I see states for MIA/MIM bass only, no Squier. This is a 13 hole and I’m assuming the hole placement is slightly different. Does anyone know where I can look for a pickguard that fits a 2007 PJ Indonesian made P Special or will these 13 hole pickguards actually maybe work ? Thanks!

One important question back at you; does the headstock say "Standard" in small script on the front face? If so, the only direct replacement you're likely to find is from another Indonesian-made Squier Standard Precision Bass Special. As a "just in case", though, @Lee Kirkham.
I've owned a few of those and there are some parts that are compatible with other Fender/Squier models, but at the same time, there are also parts that are "almost, but off by just a wee bit".
If you can't find a pickguard, you can always wrap it in vinyl: Cricut Premium Vinyl – Permanent, Black, 12" x 48". I haven't seen a tortoise pattern, but plenty of colors, pearls, foils, metal flake and some patterns.
The description of the P-Bass pickguards on Guitarfetish.com's website indicate that they're a "Nearly a perfect fit on ... MIM and Squier P Basses and also a very good fit on our USA basses."

I believe places like PickGuardian will allow you to send your original pickguard to them, and they can make a direct replacement that will be dead on, not off by a wee bit. And then of course you have their entire catalog of colors and patterns available to you as well. Get two for when you want to transform your bass into something newish. That's if you don't mind being without your pickguard for however long.
Pickguardplanet.com will also do that, but again, if they don't have a template (and they already have hundreds of those) you'd have to send them your old pickguard. They're a little pricey depending on what you want, but I have their pickguards on two of my basses, and the quality is exceptional. I am not affiliated with them in any way, shape, or form.
That is weird. I haven't been on there in about a month. I was looking for a pickguard for a Squier Paranormal Jazz Bass that I was thinking of buying, and it was up and running then. They didn't have a pickguard template for that bass, but they replied to a message I sent them regarding it. Maybe they've consolidated their two websites into this website:
