Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Bass V Special 5 String

Finally finished the mods on my Jaguar 5. Put in Nordstrand NP5F and NJ5FS pickups, Hipshot A style bridge, Richter jazz control plate ( swapped out stock knobs and plate for black versions), and Sperzel tuners.

The sleeping giant has awakened....

Looks great. Nice build.

By the way thats a good looking hipshot bridge. Im considering a brass version, if i can't find a BadassV bridge in black.

Thank you . I looked for a BA V bridge at the start of my build, but it seems they are discontinued. Best Bass Gear recommended the Hipshot

Yes it a shame that the BA2 are no longer Available . We just gonna have to find it use or wait until Omega make a copy of the 5 string bridge.

In the picture you posted. Your saddles look a little high up. Have you set the intonation your bass yet?

Oh and yes the intonation is setup, plays in tune along the neck very well.

I like that your hipshot saddles are high up on the bridge. I want to run some Rotosound on my JagaurV And be able to clear the saddles from the red silk.

But that is gonna have to wait until i get some extra cash to spend:
Seymour Duncan STC-3P PreAmp $120
Hipshot Ultra Light Tuners $100
Hipshot FM3 A-style Brass V bridge $90
(Or a BadassV bridge if found)
And thats my New Year resolution for 2016

Consider me a fan. Got this baby a few months ago for a paltry £185 (around $265) from my local guitar shop. Turns out whoever had it last invested some serious money into it, as it came with Hipshot tuners and an East J Retro 01 Deluxe preamp. Sounds phenomenal, to the point where it's my main bass for now. Very much in love and am interested if Fender will release an American made one this year.

You got a good deal there. Hope you enjoy your bass just as much as we all in this club enjoy our Jaguar V.

Wow grat deal on your Jag, Callum, have fun with it. That Retro pre is pretty amazing had one years ago and regret selling it. Bet it sounds good with the Jag

Thanks! It's a brilliant pre amp, better than anything I've experienced in the past. It's such a diverse pre and can get really aggressive sounding which I love. I'd quite like to replace the pre in my Spector bass at some point with that pre too. But for now I'm happy just keeping the Jag as my main bass.
