Squier Vista MusicMaster

Glad to hear you like the bass so much. It was very interesting to read your review because your impressions of the bass very much reflect my thoughts when I picked up my MusicMaster Vista last month. Agree on the slight neck dive, but I love everything else about the bass so much it is easy to overlook.
After a month with mine it has basically become 'my bass'. Everything from the sound to the slightly chunky neck just seems 'right'.
I really like my VM Jag SS, but it seems somewhat generic compared to the MusicMaster, which has a sound and feel all its own. It's a pretty addictive little bass.
BTW, feel free to join the Squier MusicMaster Vista Club!

Hmm, something pretty specific to the Vista I guess, must be what gives it the surf sound. Too bad they don't make them anymore, I wonder if the Bronco is comparable at all?

With the Bronco's maple fretboard and the surf green of the Vista.......more bass jonesing. :D

I don't get the hollow "surf sound" mine sounds more like a P bass.

Dug up this old post. Last week the 97' Surf green MM vista ( that I posed on here) came back into the shop I sold it to about three years ago.
The owner used it in trade for another bass. The shop who took it in contacted me and I took it home for less than I paid for it 4 years ago...minus case.
Still had the chromes flats I ordered for it and the straplocks. I'm happy to have it home, fun bass to play.

Say it like it is, The Music master Vista bass is an anomoly. Awesome compact and convertible with great tone and they look great. I have a Black one and a fretless pink one. Can't see a serious bass player without one.
