Squier VM Jag Bass with active pups opinions

I am looking for a compliment to my Epi Thunderbird, not more than 2 bills to spends sadly, but this bass seems to pack a lot of features into that 199 selling price.

I haven't found a passive, full scale model all the passives I find are Short Scale?
IS yours long or short?
