Squier VM Jaguar Bass

i think i´m in deep love with the Squier VM Jag .... will buy it for sure.

Would it make sense (only if it really fits) to replace the bridge with
BadAss II? I think the black BassAss bridge would look killer on that
bass. In which way would the sound profit with that new bridge? More
sustain?

I was wondering if you could expand on that - wouldn't turning the volume of the J pickup effectively leave you with just the P pickup? Maybe the more elaborate circuit affects the tone?

Personally, this bass is incredibly appealing to me. The neck, the style and the simplicity of a passive circuit with a P pickup is exactly what I'm looking for, at a pretty decent price to boot! I can only imagine how sweet it'll look next to my Olympic White Classic Vibe Jazz bass... the matching pickguards and the white vs. black body colouring would be SWEET! :)

I'll be the first to admit that my bass purchases have usually been fairly instinctive second hand/ebay purchases however this bass is perfectly what I'm after atm, a jazz style bass with P/J pickups, all passive and blocks! the matching headstock is a huge plus too, I love them. if it came in white or seafoam green I'd be crying about now but black is sweet and will contrast my 2 white jazz basses nicely. The control stacks look sweet too, can't wait to get my hand son one of these, definitely gonna be a quick buy once they hit the shops. :hyper: for once the UK gets something good!

Yeah. I'm not exactly sure why it never really sounds JUST like a P or a J when you turn the volume of one all the way down. I don't seem to get this problem working with PJs with PU selectors. I'm not a wiring genius, haha.

Last week the official(?) Fender UK mail said:

"Unfortunately we are unable to provided any release details as yet, these should be officially released within the next 3 weeks (including full specs and rrps).

We currently believe the basses should be available to order from the end June with them arriving instores towards the end of July/Early August."

So wait 2 more weeks and maybe we get more news.

My MI shop called me today (since I told them before that I am interested in the Jaguar) to inform me that Fender had sent out an e-mail making this bass available in Sweden, too. The first basses will ship to dealers shortly and arrive in a week or so, if I remember correctly. I look forward to it...
