Squier VM P basses w P&J pickups....any glaring weak points?

on mine the PUs aren't secure, as is typical with far too many basses for whatever reason that when you raise them they don't stay there, touch them and down they go... but that's an easy fix.
my usual psa on these basses; the neck plate screws are skinny cast garbage, swap'm for fatter stainless.

I assume you went with steel (8 X 1-3/4") neck mounting screws? (this is what my quick research came up with as standard replacements)

I haven't risked further compromise of the neck join after a screw head came off easy cos I don't gig that bass out and won't encounter stress issues. but will if needed, thx for posting your info.
