squier vs. a true fender

I don't know about the MIJ Squier but the MII (Indonesia) Squier VM Jazz got my money this weekend, over MIM Fenders, and the Geddy Lee model too. Most impressive! NICE fretwork, feel and fit is great, and really, I can't find anything I don't like that wouldn't be easy to change out. Those Duncan design pups sound real nice too when I got them raised up a little. I'm going to have to put some more foam padding under them to raise 'em up, but I'm liking mine big time so far.

I invested alot of money in my fender customshop 64 Jazz and I have to say it is by far the best bass I have ever owned. I live in Sydney so got it for $3500AUD. I do alot of gigs across Australia and o/s so invested in a Squier VM Jazz to travel with and I have to say it is absolutely brilliant. I paid $380AUD for it and I honestly can't see $3200 worth of difference between the customshop bass and the squier. I am so impressed I just bought the Squier Affinity V jazz ($340AUD).
If you buy a squier though, get a really good set of strings and find a good tech to setup action and intonation. You won't be sorry.

i started off with a squire p-bass, absolutely loved it, but i wanted something different, so i save up a bit and got myself a very nice warwick, it's a corvette $$, a nice axe, worth the money but if your into slapping the double humbuckers aren't the way to go.
