Squire cv vs vm

I wouldn't want to buy a bass where I felt like I would have to do something like steel wool the finish.

I understand the falling in love with the bass when you play it, but I've only felt that way about the Fender American Standard Precision I played at GC one time. I've never played another bass that smooth.

The CV bodies are basswood and the VM was soft Maple. The newer VM basses I believe are also Basswood. Check the specs on the Squier site...

Saw this and decided to check for myself.
For anyone who is interested, for some reason the 3 tone sunburst VM has a basswood body and a maple neck,
while the VM in natural has a soft maple body and a maple neck.

And then the CV has a basswood body and a maple neck.

When I was deciding between these two, many people told me to go with the VM, so that's how I made my decision since my closest GC is about 80 miles away. :p
