I love my Squier.
I have to get the nut fixed and proper strings and adjustment and all that fun stuff.

I put the thickest strings I could find on my poor little squier and it bent the hell out of my neck. O well thats why the are for beginners.

I had a Squier P over here at Camp Bovine a few weeks ago. Belongs to a drummer friend of mine who is learning bass in his off time. It was "unplayable", according to him, so he sent it with me for doctoring.

I didn't expect much. I took the old high tension cables off of it and put some TI Jazz Rounds on it. Tweaked the neck for proper relief and adjusted the saddles, and hey, guess what?

I had fun playing it for two days. It was a pretty good bass, and it has some competition over here with Stingrays and Jazz basses and Bongos and so on. I really liked it, and I played it quite a bit.

Sometimes it's all about the set-up. I think he paid 100 bucks for that bass, and you'd be hard-pressed to find a better bass for a hundred dollars.

exactly! I *wish* I had a squier P when I started out.... what did you start on Jack? I had a short scale Harmony that stayed in tune for about 2.5 minutes at a clip, non working truss rod and a piece of scrap plexi to repair the broken pickguard My GrandPop snagged it from a local trash can and fixed it up for me

I to this very day still own two Squier basses, a 4 string P bass and a 5 string P/J bass made in Korea.

I set them up myself and have no complaints on their playability........... do they compare to my Vintage Fender Jazz basses? No but, that doesn't keep me from enjoying what they do!

My favorite thing to do with my Squiers is, bring them to Jam sessions and let those who do not bring their own axe in, they get to use the Squier.

I haven't bought a Squier Bass.... but my Strat is actually a MIJ Squier from the early 90's and plays/sounds as good or better then a lot of the MIM and MIJ Fenders I've played.

my girl even bought me a purple moto pickguard for it the other year

For the Lundgren website, you may want to catch up on your Swedish .

sorry about that, even if we norwegians can read and understand swedish. It is maybe a little optimistic to expect everyone else to do that.

But if you find someone english-speaking that sell Lundgren pickups, you should try them.
