The tele basses I've tried - while very cool looking especially for country - have been neck divers.
Make sure to try one out w/ a strap before you buy. However, some people are not bothered by this so it may not matter to you.
Ukulele... Is that the name for the really small ABG that I see in the corner of GC every so often?
It had 4 strings....
Actually I keep telling my wife that I am going to buy one. On a whim, we worked out the harmonies for song from "The Jerk" (the beach campfire scene) and they give you the ukulele chord shapes for it on the DVD.
You can check out an early version of this review at our main page, www.bassgearmag.com. But, a new and improved Squier review (along with 11 other product reviews and a bunch of other goodies) should be out very shortly.
Tom.
why not you can get a decent one for $50
Somewhere on this board there's a thread where a guy extended the neck of the guitarron to the hole and I think redid the tuners/nut so he had a four or five string fretless, regular scale. Basically a big-bodied ABG. Looked like a great idea, not sure how it worked out.
