St. Patty's fight

You have indeed led a sheltered life. I have seen countless fights, been in a few myself and worked as a bouncer for a while but that is a different story and I aint that guy no more.

One of the more memorable fight nights started as a fight between two women, one was the wife catching her husband and the other the woman he was 'stepping out with'. It was brutal kicking, punching, scratching, clothes ripping and hair pulling until they got broken up by the bouncers and sent their separate ways. At a later point in the evening the two women are seen at the bar drinking and talking and everyone expected a repeat of the earlier fight. What did happen was the two women decided instead to beat the hell out of the man involved which happened just after another fight broke out in another area leaving them plenty of time to deliver their justice.
Appropriately the band leader called a "cheatin' and beatin' " song for us to play but for the life of me I do not recall which.

I've experienced gun fire at gigs.
Same here, and saw a guy near gutted on the dance floor for bumping in to some guys ladyfriend. Lots of bottles smashed across heads, chairs tossed and even a guy chased out by another guy with a rattlesnake.
Nothing like working in gut bucket dives to make you appreciate how normal life can be, and is, for the majority of people.

C'mon!

One of my friends was returning from a gig or a jam on a trishaw in the middle of the night when some guys just showed up and started hammering him and the driver. They took his guitar from him and tried to smash his head in with it, hit him a few times with it too. At some point, he just crawled under a vehicle and hoped that they would leave and fortunately they did.

About 5 years ago, first set of the first gig with my current band. Drunken guy with only 1 leg picks a fight with a sober bodybuilder guy right in front of us on the dance floor. Song we were playing was Into The Mystic, I kept the band playing playing because the sober guy was a friend of a friend and I knew he wouldn’t hurt the poor disabled drunk to bad. They did end up rolling around on the floor a bit.
