Joe, The E1's aren't terrible with the molds, since they provide a good seal,( remember the seal is VERY important for bass response) but compared to the E5's they are quite inferior. If you are seriously going to give the IEM's a try, go for the E5's. If for some reason you don't like them, they hold their resale value very well. A word of advice: IEM's take time, lots of it, before they become comfortable to perform with. A gig, or two, three, four is not enough to gauge fairly. I made a commitment to use them almost exclusively, and I haven't looked back. I'll admit, I get a kick playing the occaisional gig with an amp, but had I had IEM's through my whole playing career, I would not have to live with the constant ringing in my ears for the rest of my life.
