Stagg Strings... AGHHHH!

When I bought my first drum kit, I got a free stool (stagg of course). It broke it within 3 days.

I have a Stagg fretless 4 string and it's really nice... other than the fact that I had to get the fingerboard redone because it buzzed like a swarm of bees, and it had an imitation coating on it to make it look ebony. When I got it back, it was a beautiful rosewood. It's a shame Stagg had to try to make something look good that already did. I know two guys with Stagg guitars, and they sound BAD. I guess I got lucky... 
Staggs are horrible. We had a Stagg electric guitar at my old school. One day my mate used the whammy bar a little, and ALL 6 strings broke!
Reading this thread I feel like must have hit the lottery or something. I bought a Stagg bass a few years ago at Rondo music - this thing is excellent for the price. The neck is straight, frets are nice and level, no buzzes, the electronics are cheap but I've had no problems in 3 years of use. I've used it in the studio several times without a single problem. The pups are two Stingray-looking things and they sound excellent. The body shape is almost identicle to a Fender jag. With the way Stagg is berated I'm really strating to think that I must have hit the jackpot and got the only decent one in existance!??

i played one exactly like it, one of the screws fell out of the G saddle
Yikes. Well, the way I see it is that sometimes, despite their best efforts, someone ends up accidentally churning out a good instrument.

Ugh, Stagg, the first bass for me. Man, I had some rough times with that bass. Just put some new strings on it, that's what I did. Of course, I didn't know what "bad strings" were until I put on the second pair of strings, which were Ernie Ball's I believe. Still sounded like crap though.

I'm using some Stagg parts, and nothing wrong with them...

I've never had the displeasure of playing any bass-related Stagg items, but I can tell you, anything to do with drums is absolute crap.
The cymbals were supposed to be, quoting my friend, "amazing". I tried them out, they were like dustbin lids. Not like blue man group dustbin lids though, just dustbin lids.

It was the only fretless available in my area without ordering and/or paying out the a$$. I played a fretless Fender after I bought the Stagg, and I actually like the Stagg better.
