NO. Don't put anything on a paper cone unless it did something really, really bad to you. FIDO Forget It And Drive On. No paint, no shoe polish, nothing. It will just f'up the paper.

Not true. In my many years of using it on dozens of quality speakers that I still have and are subjected to extremely hot and humid weather as well as very cold and frigid weather, absolutely no issues.

Lol. OP dropped this thread ages ago. All that advice on setting fire to the cab, posting pictures, checking if it is really a stain, leaving it alone, and the obligatory totally not paid for ad for a Fender Rumble just softly reverberate inside the walls of our own echo chamber while the intended audience has moved on with life.

Buy a Squier with flats.

It was worth it. Not the OP but I wondered if the speaker cone cosmetic treatments were useful.
Never tried one and now I never will. My 215e will just keep looking a little dusty.
