I recentely acquirenti this beautiful Steinberger L-2 bass

Overall in pretty good shape, logo sticker is gone, but the elusive leg rest has not been lost.
The screws needed for using standard strings are gone though. I found these photos in an old ad by user peterkidd, I hope he doesn't mind my using them

Does anybody knows where I can find them? I would love to put on non double-ball end strings...
All help very much appreciated ;)

I'm an L2 owner. Go to a good hardware store (bring the bass if you need to) and I'm sure you'll be able to find screws that fit. They don't even have to be Allen screws. Good luck!

Those look like typical allen head set screws - although I don't know for sure what size you need, looking at those pictures, I would guess they are SAE size, either 1/4"-20 or #10-24.

The thread looks too course to me for typical metric sizes in that range, although it might be 8mmx1.25.

A local hardware store or motorcycle shop can probably fix you up.

There's a good chance that the replacement screws will be made of a harder material than the string retainer itself (the retainer is likely made of brass), so be CAREFUL not to over-tighten! A screw made of steel, either plain steel or stainless, will easily pull the threads right out of brass.
