Star Wars Ep. 7 Teaser Trailer

I hate that they're releasing it in 3D. That's a pure moneygrab move. If the movie is any good, 3D is just an annoying distraction to me. Also it makes the screen image dim.

I see the first three shows in 2D at Cinemark 17 here are already sold out. None of the 3D shows is sold out yet though I'm sure they will be eventually.

I’m excited for this, I’ve been a fan since my dad took me to see the first one on opening day in ’77.

However, I won’t see this one on opening day. I love to go to the movies, especially for something like this, but I try to give a movie a week or two so I can catch a matinee that isn’t packed and I don’t have to deal with someone sitting next to me, dressed as Chewbacca, getting fur in my popcorn.

I normally prefer to avoid 3D, but I've seen some movies that the 3D was so beautifully done. Avatar is a good example. when the ashes were raining down from the tree after they shot it with missiles about half the audience reached out in an attempt to catch them. that is an awesome feeling.

They show this guy with a light saber.

I'm sure that's meant to be a huge reveal. Now we know at some point he fights the Sith guy with a light saber.

LOL!

Possibly not work-safe due to language. But... LOL!

Anyhow, I'm still completely stoked to see it. My wife isn't, she never got past the prequels. To a certain extent I haven't either, what has been seen cannot be unseen...

I actually don't think it revealed much of anything. We know who the new main cast is supposed to be, but that really wasn't a surprise to anyone who followed the actual casting for the movie. Not much, if anything, of the actual story has been revealed, and a number of other characters haven't even been shown in the trailers yet.

There have been a small handful of 3D movies that benefited from 3D. Avatar being one. Maybe we'll get lucky and Episode 7 will be another.

I'm not too big of a fan of 3D but since one of the local theatre chains has $5 movies on Tuesdays, including their IMAX 3D showings, I snatched up a ticket for the 22nd of December. $6 (after a "convenience fee") isn't too bad for a movie that would otherwise cost $14. Thankfully I've got my phone's calendar set up to remind me the day before, lest I forget I made the purchase.
