Starting a pedal company, suggestions?

Hi Talkbass!

I'm starting my own pedal brand called Dawes Audio. I've built some pretty cool stuff and am now wondering what maybe some of you people out there might want.

So far I have a fuzz, overdrive, and a line buffer. If anyone is interested in one or has suggestions I would love to hear them!

Haven't dug into that yet. I did a Mad Professor Delay that was supposed to be a mix of analog and digital. Might get into it but analog so far. Thanks for the reply!

Midi interfaces with digital controls governing analogue circuits would be a great step forward. But having looked into designing my own pedals like this, I know its a big ask.

Bassmike 62 I have a pedal that is based on the old Seamoon Funk Machine pedal like what Larry Graham had used I believe. I've added a blend knob and internal boost. Will probably make that one available for those interested.

What the pedal world needs is high-quality construction backed by stellar customer service. What the pedal world doesn't need is any more guys churning out copies of other people's circuits using mediocre construction and vanish-to-zero customer service.

I don't know your work or history in this regard, so I'm not dissing you--just saying "how it is".

I agree with you Bongo. Hope to be different. Used to be in sales for a longtime so I treat the customer with care and respect. I really love music, art, and building so this incorporates all that. I really like it.

No more "emulating"..... what we need is "INNOVATING" as bongo said... we don't need another "SOUNDS-LIKE/CHEAPER/MORE EXPENSIVE/ANALOG/DIGITAL VERSION of SVT/MESA/TS808/DOD250/ORANGE SQUEEZER/EHX/ or whatever ---- PEDAL... use the old as foundation and bring something NEW.

I also agree there too. I've been trying to build upon some circuits and add more options and in some cases making them more bass friendly.

We need a chorus with a built in reverb, but not normal chorus, like super wavey chorus, have it go to unusable tones if the knobs are at 12 O'clock and just stupid horrible sounds when it's maxed out.
