Me and a few of my high school buddies decided to change our bands music from rock to ska today, after our drummer decided to leave our band. We all just got into ska music recently and we realized it would be a great change because there is absolutely no local ska bands, and we can separate ourselves from the million other rock bands at our school.
We know that we need to find another drummer, and get a trumpet player, and a trombone player (correct me if I am wrong)
So I have a few questions:
What bass would be good for ska? I was always GASing for a Ray34 and now might be a good time to get one used.
Where would we be able to play? At our age (14-15) money doesnt matter much and we only want a good time.
Would we need any additional players besides the ones already listed?
And if anyone listens to ska, what kind of simple songs could we play to get a good grasp on how to play ska and move onto harder material?
Thanks in advance!
