Starting age

At 65, been on the bass only a few years. Started out of necessity as no bassist would show at a small club's informal Thursday night jam I was asked to organize. Started at 6yrs old on the 6 string with my daddy, shortly before he died in a car wreck. He played out with his hillbilly cousins, Skip and Marvin Fingerlow, all passed on now. Started with Johnny Cash, Elvis, Peter Paul and Mary, Kingston Trio songs that were on AM radio at the time. Teen years graduated to garage bands playing Stones, Grace Slick, John Kay (who I met, he playing a small club in Wyoming). Played off and on though the Marines and after. Recently playing occasional small clubs with old blues icons in Texas. Been a great life. Only play if you love it. Not to brag or be cool. It'll show right through... Enjoy...

Hey, guys. I recently started playing bass, and I'm 16. Ain't this age too late for starting playing an instrument? Thank you for the answers
Heck no....I started 5 years ago at age 53!

However, if you stick with it by the time you reach 53 you'll be just phreeking incredible on bass
