Double Bass steam heat is back!

Just got cold in NYC for the first time this week and the steam heat went on for the last 48 hours. Went to tune up and everything was a half step flat! Sure sign that winter is on its way ... this happens every year, just a reminder that we play big sensitive wooden beasts of instruments.

Indeed! This cold snap was something. And then it's gonna be in the 70's the next 3 days.

Out here its pretty much the opposite. The onset of the rainy season means I'm emptying the shop dehumidifier weekly now...
