Double Bass Steel strings

I will buy this Michael Zadow pickup for my laminated double bass,
but it needs steel strings.

This time I use Thomastik Spirocores

Spiros will be perfect with a magnetic pickup.

For something that is a bit easier to bow (if you want to do that too), you might want to check out the Presto Balance Hybrid Medium from Jonas Lohse in Germany. Not as much power as Spiros, but a nice allround rope steel core string.
Even the Presto Nylonwound (=Eurosonics) which have a rope steel core but a nylonwound outer surface will work. (Maybe a bit less signal than a metal wound steel string but enough for amplification.)

Or Corelli or Pirastro Jazzers or Permanent or Flat-Chromesteel or ...

The only important thing is, you need a steel core.

If you like the Spiros, keep them.
