Don't forget Ned's current NS Design Radius basses. They come in four levels...an Asian import (WAV), two Czech imports (NXTa, CR) and US custom shop.

The NXTa is insane, active but no battery You charge it up via USB for 60 seconds and it runs for 16 hours.

I would love to play one of the NS design basses, but I'm damned if I can find one in a store anywhere, no local dealers. The bridge itself looks like another amazing piece of engineering, all the reviews I've read are very positive. Not a Budget Bass by any means though!

Yes. They also sell a dummy fretboard to practice fingerings, etc. Sort of like the Shredneck, I suppose.

Those Hohner B2s are KILLER basses... rock-solid... Steinberger-licensed hardware (bridge, legrest and headpiece)... three-piece, thru-body construction.

I have the Hohner B2ADB with the detunable switch for the E String at the bridge. Pretty good bass. The only thing with the Hohner basses is I don't think they make them anymore so you'd probably have to try to find them used.

There was a unicorn riverhead bass for sale close to me a few weeks ago. I really wanted it. I want one of these kinds of basses because of there small size. Unfortunately I did not have the money for it. He wanted $325.00 or best offer. It,s gone now☹

I owned the Yamaha BX-1 (discontinued) at one time. Not only do they not get in the way of a crowded stage, they don't need a guitar stand.

My first 5 string bass I bought (summer of 1987) was a BX-5. I had that until the early '90s when I traded it for my first Alembic (Persuader/Vector). In more recent years I had a BX-1 that I usually kept at work to practice on during idle times.

Today, I'd go for the Status Graphite Streamline if I were looking for a similar form factor. Someone mentioned the headless Kiesel basses; those are nothing like in form factor.

The Streamline Bass is a one-piece, woven graphite composite instrument.

Its compact design may be light-weight but it is a true, professional bass guitar which delivers all the quality you would expect from any Status Bass.

The 24 fret fingerboard has a regular 34" scale. Only the body is smaller to make it more convenient when travelling or in a space restricted gigging or studio situation.

An elongated upper body makes the balance perfect when used with a regular guitar strap but, to make sure the upper fret access is not restricted, the back of the neck and body has a deep recess.​

I have one of these and I love it!

I have a couple of Hohners and a Spirit. The Hohners are all 80's stock and the Spirit new. I'd really not want to pick between them as I don't see the glaring differences that others seem to find.
