Steinberger headless L & XL's -- anyone own one?

I own an old L2 bought from "Onedrop" from a few posts ago. I also own 2 XP's and a new Spirit XT. Plus a couple of other headless basses -Hohner B2-Hondo Alien(Kramer copy)-Westone Quantum-H&S Fretless-Lindenton "Neo Land Signature" .
The one which really stands out is still the L2. It's the best bass I've played and keep playing as long as I can.

I have a near mint 1987 XL-2 (5 string narrow) with the original gig bag, black. I love it, however am thinking about seliing it-- what are the basses worth currently?

I do dig these basses. Owned a hohner b2adb for a while. The steinies do stay in tune forever and have an amazingly even tone. I dont really like the tone of the EMGs, however.

are there any direct fit replacements as far as pickups goes, the emg size, or do you pretty much have to rout to accomodate other pickups because of their small size?

Don't rout: not sure how the composites would like that anyway.
Villex make some with P internals, Q Tuner med Z guitar will fit and work, Lawrence EB50. Undoubtely there are others who might be able to pot one of their P designs in a guitar HB, eg Nordstrand. Lots of guitar pickups with blades will also do it, eg Dimarzio X2N and others. I know it works as I've done it.
EMG will also do the CS internals in the HB shape as a special order.

I have EB50's in my Hohner B2ADB and will order Villexes for the XL2 next year.

Edit: Peavey T40 pups look like they'll fit.
