Stenback bass club?

This beautiful bass is mine.
I thought I was hyped I bit to much.
But when I played the bass of Paul Sips I was amazed.

where can I see a serial number?

Is there a ‘Stenback Club’?

I was lucky enough to just get this beautiful instrument from darkbass. It is still in transit but I cannot wait to get some playing time on this instrument!

Apparently Tom Stenback is no longer building basses. Used Stenbacks are scarce and costly, since most owners are reluctant to part with theirs.

That’s a shame and a surprise given the prices these go for, and a renown player - Paul Turner, who has a lot of bassist fans and gigs music with prominent bass playing to large audiences - swears by his.

I fell into this absolute monster of a bass. I literally cant believe how good it is, every note feels like its spring loaded and the tone is absolutely perfect in the mix. Its just off the charts in every conceivable way....

No affiliation, but Paul @Bassmatters has a used Stenback 4 string for sale right now. Priced at €9.500 it's not cheap but for a Stenback it probably is.

I don't think I'll ever play a Stenback, but I have a Suhr custom on order. For those that have played both, does a passive Suhr compare to a Stenback?
