Stereo Adapter

Just bought a new cable, and this jack-adapter kind of thing came with it.

All i figured out is that it's a stereo adapter, but i don't know how I could use it.

It is a bit more complicated, but doable.
People have gotten decent results using the line in of a soundcard and active basses. If your bass is active try getting an mono 1/4" to 3/8" adapter and plug into the line in of your soundcard, run any recording software and see what results you get.

Now an Audio interface is basically a soundcard, that is optimized for real time audio recording and has added features like mic preamplifiers, digital/analog audio converters, USB/fireire connectivity and more depending on the brand, model and price.
You can pick a used one on ebay for about 50 bucks and get decent results.
Line 6 GX, m-audio fast track or presonus audiobox are good options.

Ah okay, seems simple enough now. Thanks for the help!
