Stereo Power Amp options

Go Crest CA-9 if you don't mind the weight (I sure don't). You can get a good used one for 450 - 500.
Absolutely smokin and versatile. You'll need a good Pre though.

Another option, the QSC GX series (3 or 5). No 2 ohms or bridging but that doesn't sound like you need either of those features. If you want to biamp at some point, they have a built in 100Hz active crossover so you can run one channel for the top and the other for a sub.

Gjazz....I should have been more specific but you have correctly deduced what I meant by the little I posted! Will you marry me?!

Yeah...I just want to power 2 500 watt cabs. I don't need anything else.

You didn't give us the ohms!

OK.
I'll assume they're 4 ohms and the cabinets are rated for 500 RMS.
If they were mine:
QSC2402 (700 RMS per side at 4 ohms = a bit of headroom)
and add a decent, budget compressor.
The 2402 is discontinued but mine continues to work nicely pushing one ACME B2 per side(350 RMS min) and you should be able to find a used one at a good price. Andy at ACME said be careful as "some folks can drive a Corvette just fine and some wrap it around a tree"....meaning play(drive) carefully.

Johnny that 350W for the B2 is max not min. I run my pair from a Carvin DCM1000 (350W/ch @ 4Ω) and they are as loud as hell. I feel that double that would be pushing them too much but to each his own. ;)
