Sterling or Bongo?...

thanx for the heads up fellaz, but a 5 won't do me,I'm really into 4 strings and find a 5 to be unneccessary for the bands I've been in. after a 4banger in desert gold,I think..
I found a desert gold sterling 4 used for $699,very tempting,but I'm holding off,i really think i may get the Bongo.Unless I see something irresistable in Japan next week, I'm getting an orange Bongo,I think...rosewood/matching headstock..
or maybe i'll spring for one of bass central's LE's..I love that black bongo with the gold hdwr..that'll be top dollar,but I think a Bongo's appeal is that high tech look,glossy finish..I want one that's mint or close to it.
What's your opinion on the 2nd pu?
does it make the bridge pu sound different? i'm assuming that they have to put the bridge pu in a different spot to fit 2 in there..so it isn't in the traditional MM "sweet spot"?
that concerns me,sort of..
I tried a HH model 5'er yesterday,and liked the tone of the bridge pu..I feel like I wouldn't use other pu's anyway..
but I never heard a single pu model,if I could A/B the 2 types,it'd be great,that won't happen though.
Do u guys really utilize the 2nd pu alot on your MM's?

I have both the HH and single H SR5 and I love the HH more. For my style of playing (Finger pick, no slap) the HH gives alot of sound choices. I have found that the single H is very piercing and not as warm as the HH.
IMO get the single H bongo over the Sterling. I've had a Sterling H, Bongo HH. The HH was versatile but I found myself fiddling a lot. The H is perfect set flat. Like a cross between a Sterling and a P-Bass, but more powerful and more complex/rich.
i have a really nice highway one P and a geddy lee jazz, as well as a few other basses. a little over a month ago, i bought a bongo HH and have barely touched any of the other basses since. you absolutely can not go wrong with a bongo. it did take me a few weeks of tweaking to find out what the bongo was capable of, but now i have a sound that i am in love with. i have never had a bass that played as nice or sounded as good as my bongo does.
