I believe current EBMM Sterlings are a bit more expensive than the EBMM StingRays.

That seems to be my experience with them as well when I've looked for them online in the last year or 2. They are also considerably harder to find in terms of retailers that sell them compared to the Stingray.

For those that don't know the differences

the body isn't as wide and the necks have a smaller nut 1.625" on the Stingray and 1.5" on the Sterling

I have a stingray and a sterling. I prefer the sterling. The smaller neck and body make it more comfortable than the ray. Sound wise they are very similar.

Sterling by Music Man (SBMM) = Made in Korea by Praxis under license from Music Man

It doesn’t help that the current Music Man CEO is named Sterling Ball, nor does it help that the EBMM Sterling model of bass is made by Music Man in the USA. It‘s terribly confusing. They should have picked a different name for the SBMM company for sure! I imagine that employees of both companies are tired of explaining the difference over and over again.

My Sterling by Music Man SUB Ray4 was made in Indonesia.
