Cool to see a changing sig model, from the pro's point of view, sweet Warwick too, so congrats, killer looking machine, and I love chrome, steel or mirror.

The Fender was a nice bass too, though.

no, they're not valid. he doesn't work for warwick. he's playing their basses. what the hell does warwick's employee relations have to do with him using their basses?

This is some cool information about Warwick/Fender that I never would have been privy too, I find it all interesting.

Thanks Steve for showing up and chiming in every now and again. You are definitely one of the good ones...

EDIT: I do have one question however...what happens when an artist does not extend their endorsement? Does Fender still produce the bass yet change the name?

I'm thinking about Daryl Jones and Lakland, I'm also thinking about Mike Tyson and Mike Tyson's Punch Out. I realize the latter category has nothing to do with anything else in this conversation.

As an endorser, whose emphasised the people working and making the instruments in his post, he certainly isn't just some random player.

They are valid.

They may be unanswerable, by a long stretch, but that doesn't mean they aren't questions worth asking.

If a dude that doesn't even appear to play a Warwick can be aware of this stuff, a guy who is entering a relationship with Warwick could reasonably be expected to have some awareness, especially since their names are now tied together at a contractual level.

nope, sorry...they're not only pointless questions, they're rude, too. the guy obviously has an agenda and is being disingenuous when he says he doesn't.

No, they're not valid questions. The truth value of the original accusations hasn't been established. For all we know, they were started by some malcontent on an online forum somewhere who went off his medication for a few weeks. Companies don't make money and establish market positions by chasing idiots around on blogs and internet forums - that's why you hardly ever see their reps on places like TB. If the accusations really are based on anything truthful, you can be certain we won't have access to the proceedings here.

As for SB, he's an endorsing artist and certainly isn't involved. He may or may not know any more than we do, but even so I don't see (yet) a good basis for wasting time questioning him about Warwick's internal business matters.

Asking him about the bass, tho, would surely be fruitful!

100% right on all accounts. i'd like to see this thread either get back to the original subject or be closed because it does nothing except cause yet another famous bassist with good intentions to bail.
