How does Fender support the bass player in general? Two guitar lines introduced within the past year, blacktop and pawnshop; where's the bass?

Why do the need new "lines" to support bassists? That just dilutes the brand; I'd rather see Fender offer small improvements to their already solid offering: How about the contoured neck heel on ALL basses? How about making nice top-woods an *option* on the P or J, rather than having to buy a Deluxe???

Seriously, this is the plight of technology (or the false promise), that something better is always around the corner or is going to come out. I'm certain nobody's ability to play bass will be significantly enhanced or hampered by any products Fender will be releasing in the next 100 years.

I know personally of two former Warwick colleagues who told me of the ridiculousness that is the working practices at Warwick. Both told me of forced 11 hour work days and physical abuse from middle management. This was a fairly big issue on the German speaking instrument forums a fair while back. Warwick never denied the issues either.

Sorry for pointing it out, but the whole "Family" perception of Warwick somewhat irks me.

Honestly, where's the "proof" of the allegations? I don't read German but the one link in English was like saying Warwick worships child sacrifice and then linking to the Enquirer.

The reports are supposedly regarding German citizens working in Germany. Don't you s'pose if there were in fact a merciless slave shop being run in Germany that a group of electric bassists in America are not going to be the first to notice, take appropriate action and dole out justice?

Every link and article that has been discussed here was from another Web forum nearly two years ago. I know we can believe everything we read on the internet, especially when it's written in another language, but can't we get to the Warwick atrocities after we stop the 2012 apocalypse ?

I find your sense for justice admirable but I can't help but feel like you can relax about this one and let the German authorities take over.

Sounds like faulty logic to me, especially in this era when rumor flies faster than ever and people believe virtually ANYTHING.

The Presidential visit (also note: this was NOT the Prime Minister) and investigation was back in October 2009 - I think it is safe to say the accusations were not confirmed.

Requirement of disproof is the domain of door-to-door apocalyptic canvassers.

In any case, we got Steve's detailed answer (which he was in no way obligated to give), not to mention a mod warning to "take it elsewhere" - so I went ahead and made a thread for people to bash Warwick and maybe even eventually present evidence.

this is the number one rule of our court system, too. the burden of proof is on the prosecution. the defendant doesn't have to prove they didn't do something...the prosecution has to prove they did. the defendant can just sit there like a lump and not say a word.

and considering that this isn't a prosecution but a rumor, if i were warwick, i wouldn't dignify it with a response, either. so just stop it.

It was a pleasure to meet you last week at BNC -- you are a sincere, kind, generous person who is passionate about your music and about sharing that passion with others. With every yahoo that speaks negatively, there are hundreds who quietly respect and appreciate you and your music. Keep playing and thanks for staying up until 0300 in the morning so you could call from Germany just to encourage some enthusiastic bass students. That's dedication and generosity for ya!!

I can't find my sources but I'm a very active on the warwick forums. Just saying it wasn't the general consensus (another journal came in the factory and did a quick survey with the employees and came with the opposite, that warwick was a caring company for their workers, etc.. etc...).
