Steve Harris vs Geddy Lee SansAmp

For what I am doing in YYNOT right now switching from my Jazz to my Ric every so often....I would say the SH1 is gonna get the nod. The dirt and growl is there as well as two different levels via the 2 channels. win win.
Very good to know. Too bad it's not programmable, would be so much more practical. However, maybe that would have an impact on the tones.

So, @Nunovsky and @Gefilter1001 , if I wanted to use the SH1 in conjunction with my Zoom B3 (for amp emulation), would I place it before or after the B3 (no effect loop)? Thanks!

The real expert here is @Gefilter1001 . He's the one that's been demoing the pedal and he knows more about it than anyone else right now.
If you want to use as a drive I'd place it before the Zoom. But it also works on its own as a standalone unit with cab sim and if you want it for your base tone then you could use the B3 before it just for effects.

That's kind of where I was leaning. Mind you, I guess since I'm only tentatively using these two units, it's no biggie to experiment in the different hook ups. Much easier than if I had a chain of multiple pedals. Thanks!

Id have thought the B3 could get pretty close to the HS1 already, plus you have the programming side already sorted.
You're not wrong. The B3 is pretty versatile and I have some great patches on it (mostly from third party, which are A LOT cooler that the factory presets). From what I've heard from online demos, the drive on the SH1 seems a lot more natural/warmer than the Zoom (especially when you get aggressive with the settings). Could just be in my mind and creating an excuse to buy something new...wouldn't be the first time.

Lol! I have to check out one of the other threads about sneaking new gear into the house!

Yep, it's not the B3n unfortunately. That having been said, it's a really competent pedal, but, and you used the perfect word, it does lack the organic feel of the Tech21.

Have any of you tried the tech21 steve harris with a jazz bass? do you think using the neck pickup you can get a sound similar to precision with the sounds of steve harris? thank you very much!
I had purchased it and was able to get a pretty decent approximation of the Harris sound with, both, my Jazz (mostly all neck pup) and Precision. However, the pedal really wasn't for me. Analogue is great for tone, but less for practicality if you're changing sounds relatively frequently. Again, that's just me, but I think I'm in a serious minority.

bumping this.
I like all the demo videos of the SH1. I like the versatility and the tuner. The question is, has anyone been able to model a Geddy Lee tone on the SH1?
I've been lurking on these boards for years. Thanks to all of you for your past advice. I just finally had a question that I haven't seen answered before. Thank you.

I'll bump it again, because I have money burning a hole in my pocket and am torn between the YYZ Shapeshifter and the SH1 as a first pedal. I play a J bass through a Rumble 500c.

What kind of results is anyone getting running a J through the SH1?
