Today I found the ultimate solution!
After a couple of months of not touching my bass (too much work but now the trade-show season is finally over), I spent an hour yesterday with Rutger Gunnarsson (abba) licks, and after that session my index finger was completely smashed by a huge ugly blister.
As I wanted to continue today, I tried to figure out what to do, but really didnt feel like soaking my fingers in cancerogenous super glue or any other hazardous chemicals.
Then I came to think of someting, Compeed!!

As I have quite big feet (european size 46), I always need to use Compeed when I get new shoes, so I always have it in my medical locker.
I carefully punctured the blister, and let it dry for some hour, not removing the damaged skin, just a needle tick.. then I took a "heel patch", cut it in two pieces and fit one of the pieces right over the blister, and rubbed the Compeed right on to the finger tip starting right where the nail ends... then I had to cut with a razor (careful!!!) on the other side to make it fit smooth and "even" over the rest of the fingertip, and finally when rubbed on, I cut the outstanding "parts" with a small scissors.
And guess what?
IT WORKED LIKE CHARM!!
I played for 2 hours now, great tone, no pain what so ever, and no rests on the string as with normal band aid etc.
If you never tried this, go get some Compeed NOW, and a small razor and a scissors, and keep it in your bass tools compartment, I will never have to worry about blisters ever again!!!
Amazing!!!
Cheers
