I'm hoping someone can identify my bass's strings. It's a Fender Jazz 2010 from Mexico. The ball ends from E to G: (E) Gold/Chrome, (A) Red, (D) Silver, (G) Seafoam Green. I'd like to buy more of these as I tried my usual Ernie Balls and it did'nt go over too well. So I'm hoping someone might know the brand (Fender?) and just as important; what gauges they are. Oh and they're roundwounds!

Stock Fender String Help!

Is the E string Taperwound? If so, I think they're Fender 8250s. Those the closest I've been able to find to the stock strings. If someone knows more of an accurate answer, I'd like to know too.
Just look at the webpage, in specifications of your bass. Your strings are mentioned there.
I'm pretty sure they are 7050's but now Fender strings are made by d'addario - thats why the ball ends are in colours.

Lots o' luck buying the same string from Fender! THEY don't even know what they have going out on new instruments and cannot replicate them anyway.
There's such a mashup of strings that they call 7250 NPS that you are prolly better able to get a different brand and just try them - at least you'd get some consistency from ROTO if you try their RS45s.
All the basses I bought in the last 14-16 months from either Fender or Squier advertise they use 7250s, and they are all vastly different in texture, finish, tone and voice.

Thanks for the help guys. I thought I'd look into this because the set of strings I originally bought for this bass worked out horrible. The A string would buzz on alot of frets that I never heard buzzing on before. With the exact same setup (relief & action) the stock strings have minimal buzzing. So I figured I gotta get me some more of these strings since they're working out so well. Looks like that might be a little tougher now than expected. But at least you guys have put me on a good track, thanks!
When you say 'exact...', does that mean that, after you changed strings, that you re-setup the bass for the new strings? In all likelihood, the strings have different tensions and would've required you to adjust the relief. Or do you mean, by 'exactly...', that you left it exactly the same? Big difference.
Anyhow, if you're happy, you're happy. But I'm not so sure that one set of (non-defective) strings would buzz much more if the bass were setup properly for them. Could be, I suppose - but I've not experienced that.
