Stone Deaf FX Rise and Shine

I got mine earlier this week. The fuzz is top notch. Still trying to decide which I want to use, the momentary octave or tremolo. Both sound pretty great as well. Full band practice this weekend will help decide, I’m sure….
Yeah the extra functions with the momentary switch are what got me. Hopefully it won’t be too awkward switching modes between songs

I’ve got one. I haven’t tried it on bass yet but on guitar it is raucous. It’s got that Jack-White-trapped-in-a-shipping-container-with-a-swarm-of-bees thing going on. Very harmonically rich and seems to retain low end very nicely. The tremolo is a nice bonus and I think that mode could work well after an octave down pedal as part of a synth bass chain. I can try it and let you know what I think.

Cool thanks! Yeah any feedback or tips on using this thing would be most welcome as I want to try it out with my band right away and that sort of info would give me a head start.

I tried out the Gamechanger Plasma Coil on guitar looking for that kind of crazy Jack White tone, but found it sort of unusable and returned it. In retrospect I didn’t give it much of a chance though and was more enamored with the Plus pedal I got at the same time.

I’m really curious now. I’ll run my bass through it this weekend. I’ll also try stacking it with an octave and a filter.

What I like so far about the R&S is that it’s very easy to get usable tones out of it. I just play at home but I could see it being very useful in a band context.

The modes are a little fiddly and I could see myself actually hitting one of the recessed buttons with my foot that I didn’t intend to, but that is just because I’m clumsy, not a knock on the pedal itself.

Got mine today and I really like it. I played with it for about an hour and agree with the comments about it being fairly easy to dial up a good fuzz sound with. I’d prefer that the tremolo be momentary like the octave, but I may just be setting something wrong. Not sure how or where I will use it. I ended up playing the song in that demo video to try out the different modes in context.

Well I’ve had it for a lil bit now. I used it at band practice and do like the fuzz tone, but noticed it will freeze if left plugged in for a period of time (seems to be around an hour). I wrote to their customer service and got a quick reply indicating that they think it’s a software issue and will be sending me a return label. It’s probably worth waiting for this to be sorted out if you’re interested in one.

Beyond that I like the sounds, but find the switches hard to navigate in real life situations. One aspect of the tremolo that makes it hard to use (and that didn’t occur to me when watching the demo) is that you’ll need to tap the tempo you want in or use an expression pedal to set the rate.

I’m running into rhe same thing with mine. I have to imply it from my TrueTone power brink and plug it back in to get it working again.

I sort of wonder if it is some sort of current issue. I will say SDFX were willing to refund me. They sent me two different UPS label QR Codes and I went to several UPS retail locations and none of them couldn’t make it work to send back. I had way too much going on to continue to follow up and eventually I just wrote it off, but have been tempted to try it out again with some different power solution.

Same crap, its at about the 1 hour mark that it freezes up, it can freeze up in the off position, or freeze up with its in distortion mode. I have to remove power and re-add it to make it work again, for an hour. I have tried different power supplies, used the recommended power supplies on their site, used it by itself, used different instruments, used different cables. Same thing. Ive been trying to get through to their tech support and I'm on crickets. I even asked them to check their ticket system on IG messenger, they read it, but no reply.,,, Now I've had it for a while, but have never used it for an hour at a time. Its only when I slapped it to my board that I realized it craps out after an hour.
