Thanks MC and Corey. The sets were a lot of fun to play. I feel like the SWD set was sonically heavier and tighter in the performance. The other set was super high energy and fun, unfortunately there aren't many videos from that set, but it was a blast to play.

But yeah, live SWD is better than the record. I can't wait for it on vinyl...because I'm a nerd who listens to his own band.

How about both? For people who dont like/know about this type of music, Bongripper would add perfectly to the fire and brimestone.

I wouldn't play Bongripper as the first thing when introducing someone to this genre. I could see it scaring an old women away.

I do. :)

SWD is one of the records that really opened my eyes about what heavy music could mean. If the bass break around the 9 minute mark in Satan doesn't get your inner barbarian going, you have no caveman left in you.

y'all folks are being too nice. but it's very awesome to know you like what we're doing.

We're working hard on the follow up record, we've got about 1/2 of the record written in some form so far, still a lot more tweaks and tightening to come, as well as the other half of the record...but we got ideas.

I don't think most of us are too concerned with brand name. We tend to chase tone for a long time and end up trying lots of different stuff, some of which is boutique. If the BBM is doing it for you, then that's all that counts. Pedals are just one piece of the tone picture, so what sounds awesome with one player, bass, amp, and cab may suck with others. There's really no universal opinion on most fuzz pedals.

Except maybe that the Bluebeard is the hands down champ for most people.

I think there's very little gear elitism around these parts. If it works for you, and you like it, then why should it matter? I have a BBM, and I have an extreme love/hate relationship with it. I kicked it off my board for 2 weeks. I recently decided to put it back and tweak things with low gain settings and I'm finding myself liking it again.

When I went to ask Sonny about a Bluebeard, he spent a few emails helping me tweak my BBM and amp to get it sounding good. Afterwards I realized 2 things, 1. he's a swell guy and deserves all the good things said about him and his pedal, and 2. If you can't make a BBM sound decent with your gear, the bluebeard will sound just as bad.
