If you like videogamey music check out my soundcloud (posted a link a couple pages back). I have some metal covers I did using an NES sound chip. I always thought the NES sounds were pretty gnarly...it works fairly well for metal stuff haha.

When people see the subs in my car, they think I'm into rap/hip-hop, but then I throw on some Sunn instead. Heh, I love intruducing people to Sunn for the first time in my car. Nothing like 1000Watts (Memphis Class D, not cheap crap) through 2 12's (Memphis HPO's) in a tiny car to make people FEEL Sunn.

Obviously it sounds great with any Doom though. I'll admit I play some rap/hip hop and even dubstep now and then just to hear it on the system. It's an experience. Girls hair literally stands up. People say they feel their eyes vibrate. It can make vision a little blurry.

no I use Famitracker. It's as close to a 100% NES sound chip emulation you can get without using the actual hardware which is totally possible to do with this program. Just need to export the files onto a flash cart and an actual NES could play them as long as you mod it to support the Japanese sound expansion chips.

It's stuff I dvck around with for fun cause I love me some old school video games and old school metal music so it seemed like a natural way to incorporate both.

I would cut a mother ****er for a Mesa 400+. Played one for a fees months YEARS ago. Been obsessed ever since.

Not sure exactly how it works. It's not an attenuator, though, as far as I know.

Doing a bit of research, I discovered that my terms were mistaken. The master volume is a current limiter, not voltage.

It sounds like it just shuts down a few tubes. There's a few guitar amps now that do that.

The clips I've heard of them don't do that much for me. I think I prefer an ampeg for that cleaner type sound.
