I have no time on a vt, but I HATE!!!! the sans amp. I do enjoy my tone hammer/power amp setup, its no svt though.

Can anyone in here give an opinion on the sansamp bddi vs VT pedal? I own a bddi I use for home recording. As I mentioned earlier I wanted to replace my backup amp. Not sure why I hadn't thought of this until now but I'm just going to buy a good power amp and run into that. I've seen those threads where people say AB comparison the VT almost goes toe to toe with an SVT. Wondering how different it is from the bddi.

I'd PM the Tech21NYC & ask about the differences. I've not played the VT but have an SVT and the BDDI is a lot cleaner when running direct but can add dirt and compress a bit, which is better for recording.

Why do you feel the need to ditch the 215? And if you're looking for an 810 check with Jeremiah on here or go to atomic. Also see SVT 810s on our CLs all the time for $500.

The 2x15 was bought on a whim and not very doomy. Pretty mid heavy but missing some bottom. It's a Schroeder and it's super light weight. I had a moment of weakness. I hope Sonny is enjoying my Acoustic 301!

Didn't you sell your RBI power amp rig? What didn't you like about that?

It was pretty cool but felt like it lacked the balls I needed. I'm really not putting much thought into this because it's just a backup plan for when the SVT is ever out of commission.

So you've run a TH into a PA and liked it? My problem with the bddi and RBI was it seemed rather hi fi and was hard to dial in a sweet spot whereas my SVT is all like I don't care if you touch my knobs you can't make me sound bad!!

No experience w/ the VT, but I am a big fan of the BDDI pedal. That said, it does not work for me as a preamp running into a power amp, the output level was too low. My normal setup is an alembic pre->qsc power amp. It's not that the alembic is particularly loud, the BDDI pedal simply has a low output.

I liked it but granted I didnt use it for doom, but I have used it in all types of different music. I did cop a killer qotsa tone with it.That overdrive is cool but the volume bump when turned on is loud, its kinda always on or always off feature unless you use it for leads. I could do some direct demos if ya want.

I use a BDDI for my "tone" in the original band I currently play in (along with the Eden preamp). I absolutely love it, but I'm definitely not looking for that vintage-y SVT tone. That said, turn the highs and presence knobs down and you have a pretty meaty sound, very similar to what I think you're looking for. Plus it's a DI.

The VT bass sounds very much like the SVT (to my ears) amps. I was very impressed. If you want something to easily cop that tone, this is probably what you're looking for. However, it's not a DI.

Their is a guy who puts DI's in VT's look up putnum guitars (I think that's how its spelled). He does a bunch of cool mods to those peds. Even made a rack mount vt for a TB'er

My BDDI Clone works well for my tone for now, but when I get money I'll be looking at Fuzz pedals again.

DI has zero use for me. I hardly ever play venues where I would use it and I usually make them mic my cabs anyways (they are a big part of my sound). I have a friend who will let me borrow a VT to try out. Now to just find a 2000w PA!

In that case, I'd definitely recommend the VT pedal. It's awesome. Not what I'm looking for these days, but no less awesome.

Doom... in a venue that has a PA? I've never come across that... I just use my Spector through a Russian big muff in to a Peavey Mark IV powering a Peavey 215. Doom out the bum.

No but you can usually find a good deal on GC used or music go round. I think you can get GC to ship for free, my buddy does

I might be alittle late getting to the party, but are you all discussing using the BDDI vs. VT as your preamp into power amp setup, and not as a "pedal"? I was just making sure, since I am curious to know the findings of this comparison.
