Stoner/Doom Bassist Thread Part 6

Yeah, I can agree with that, Laz. I have a Birdseye Maple neck from Warmoth several yrs back on a Pbass I put together from them, and have been all about them since then. It "eyeing" is really nice. Too bad that it's becoming harder to get such a piece cause of it becomig in shorter supply. And to get such a neck like that now, it'd be considered a 3A, and more expensive.

I didn't even check to see if I got the same noise with a different bass but the guy at the shop said my RB950 was definitely microphonic.

And dual single coils are supposed to do that? Ok then. Wasn't sure. Only issue that I have with it then is when the bridge volume pot is turned on all the way sometimes it cuts in and out. Think the pot may be bad.

1- ebony boards (though i don't currently own one)
2- rosewood (my p5 and fretless j)
3- maple (my sr5, which i am unenthusiastically trying to sell)
4- pau ferro (this was a fretless sr5, not enough mwah).

it's funny, you'd think this would go from hardest to softest or something like that. i think a lot of it is which bass sounds and feels the best.

I'm kind of partial to Doom Frog

ALL GLORY TO DOOM FROG!!!

I'm sure it's taken, but Hypnotoad is a great bandname.

Maybe Servants of Hypnotoad? Cult of the Hypnotoad?

I'm going to see Flogging Molly tonight, supposed to jam with a potential new band tomorrow, and then immediately after have my annual work party (open bar!). I'm getting too old to have this much fun.

Nice! Used to be a big irish punk fan. Still am I guess, just don't listen much. Been on stage when DKM was playing a few times :D
