I noticed that yesterday, boy I lucked out when I landed my BB off I Love Fuzz for $120, so glad I jumped right on that.
a friend of mine is looking for one, going to see if I get this.

I just love the body and neck, what models come like that and are cheap? Though I hate the quilts finish they got sometimes.
Oh it's an eagle, well they seem ugly or expensive finish wise, I bet built by squanch's guy i'd get one decent at my price point and finish. I mean I don't want all the switches, just a pickup or two so it'd be easy. Might just use the pickup from my squier I got, it is a "Duncan design" 1/4 pounder rip off.
Yikes, it's a shame he did that to an eagle. I wonder how easy it would be to remove the "artwork" from the fretboard. Sheesh.
Back at work today, was going to take the dodge in to get the water pump fixed today but I called around and found a place that gave me a much nicer quote - about half what the first place quoted. Shop around, fellas.
Hyundai's engine may be under warranty - fingers crossed for that. If not one of my Dad's friends said he'd swap the motor for 1500-1800 (parts, labor and 60-mile tow included!) which is pretty damn reasonable compared to quotes I've been getting from engine shops around town.
Speaking of Bobby the Builder lol. I saw he has this Diddler with some flaws listed cheap, takes a tele square heal but I found some cheap strat necks with square tele heals, bought one for the 72 Tele body I got off Jmac, decent enough build and looks nice after a coat of tru-oil.

I haven't used the wumbo in forever, the footswitch is still on the fritz and I haven't sent it back to the guy that built it for me. I need to get on that...the wumbo is a f'ing beastly muff. I want a few series parallel boxes made from him as well.
Also just a thought, is there a way to make a 8ohm cab a 4 ohm by adding a 8 ohm resister in series? Would that affect tone or something? There's 2 inputs on my vertical 412s and I'd love to make one 8 ohm and the other 4 ohm. So I can run both for an 4 ohm load and only run 1 and keep my amps running at 4 ohms. I think they sound more full and beefy pushing full power.

I can't wait to record. After all this time, we are solid as we have ever been. We have a few shows under our belt. Maybe it's time for t-shirts and other merch. Since no one in our band is artistic, what do you guys do for art? Like, how do you buy a design? What's a typical cost (per hour/straight fee/percentages)? Is there a different expectation on album vs shirt vs anything else, cost wise?
Once we have a design, I can find somewhere to print it. Just coming up with something we feels represents a culmination of our artistic ideas. A cat-shark creature, with a shoulder mounted laser and crazy skull spear, riding a giant lizard beast... yeah, that's it.

The last time I paid for artwork, I can't quite remember how I found the person. I think it was back in the myspace days and I just browsed lots of random friend networks of different bands and eventually found some cool artwork and just asked the guy how much for what we wanted. That was for the Mental Waste's "Meltdown" album and we were really happy with the results, the guy nailed what we wanted exactly. I think we paid something like 100 EU for the artwork and logo, maybe a little more, plus you know the exchange rate to USD and all that. I've had a ton of bad experiences with hiring people before that, but they were mostly semi-professional "Graphic Artists", not artists. So it ended up being bunk photoshop stuff that I could do better myself (and usually ended up doing myself). There's enough people here that have used legit artists who do great work, I'd just go hunting around on Facebook or something for someone who has done poster/album/tshirt artwork you like and just contact them and get a quote.
That defretted BC Rich Eagle bass bums me out. They're definitely not sacred beasts that must never be butchered, but I like that style. The made in Japan bolt on NJ series ones, which go cheap and the older original neck thru models, which are way more expensive. I hunt around for a good deals on one at least a few times a year, never pulled the trigger. That's part of the reason I got my Drake, he had a Eagle inspired body design.
Shocking experience at practice last night....
1 power outlet, 2 power strips. One strip pumping my bass rig, PA, pedalboard, and vox processor, the other powering the guitar amp and pedalboard.
We hook everything up and I lean over to check the mic only to get arc-zapped in the lip. F*ck that stings. Touch the mic again with my hand, sure enough its buzzin.
We'd just finished a tree sesh, so in our great wisdom I make guitarist grab the mic... no problem. Must have been a fluke... grab it again, shockshockshock. Take off my bass, touch the mic no problem. Put the bass on again, shockshockshock. Tell guitarist to grab it again (at this point he's rofl'ing at my pitiful troubleshooting)... he grabs the mic, I grab his arm and we both get zapped (take that f'cker!)
Guitarist notes that my bass and amp are 28+ years old and that may be part of the problem. At this point my heart is beating fairly hard and I'm a bit on edge (what a great day to forget to stop at the liquor store on the way to jam) so I'm leery to grab the mic again. The ONLY changed variable in the whole room was my guitarist's Laney is in the shop so he brought his Peavey combo back out. That combo is running from the same outlet, so I'm thinking maybe that had something to do with it....
Finally, I notice the little extra switch on my Acoustic amp that I never knew its purpose. GND / REV. A quick Google search concludes this reverses the ground... and in its shockingly electric state, happens to be in REV. I switched it back to GND, hesitantly grabbed the mic.... no shock! Proceeded to play and sing the rest of the night with no issues.
SOOOO why did I just waste everyone's time here? I'm wondering if when the Laney comes back, I can expect a hearty zap from the mic. I dont know why I had it in REV ground anyway, I think I had some hum at a jam once, and never set it back to normal GND. Is it as simple as the switch solved my problem? Or do you think theres still a grounding issue, either in my amp or my guitarists? The power cable was recently replaced on mine (recently = last year) and Id never experienced problems before. Apparently my guitarist's amp has some ground switches in the back too, we didnt mess with those.
So I solved the initial problem, but I really really want to mitigate that risk in the future. The zaps weren't bad to a quick touch but the first one on the lip and 2nd one where I grabbed the whole mic sure did suck a big bag of d!cks. Any suggestions to preventing this in the future?
1986 passive Ric and 1974-ish solid-state Acoustic rig. I'm buying a cheap outlet tester to throw in the music bag but considering the amps were on the same outlet I dont think that would have been the problem, no?

Hate getting shocked to the lip...shvts stings so bad had it happen once at a basement show, and I don't even sing, I was just mic checking for the singer. The ground around my pedals was pretty charged too.
Toast, just get a new band member that's into S&M and have him test the mics before each practice.
You gots a two prong cord on that amp? Get a modern three prong and it eliminates the need for that ground switch and shocking mistakes.
