Got to be up at 7 for a flight, but had to try both heads and three basses.

Peavey combo without head so "1x15 BW equipped cab" it came with the mb500 so never been used before.
First of all every single variation had noise, not sure if it's the lights or a cable or what but nothing was "no play no noise" quiet.
**Also I kept my 800rb on top of my microwave in my apartment for the last 3 months and never used it. Could that have done anything to it?**

This was a disappointingly lackluster maybe the strings are dead, I've played the crap out of them now for close to two years, but this is by far my brightest bass and generally my go to noodler and seemed dead today. The mb500 did better as the 800rb sounded like mush and only sounded defined when I dimed the treble, hi boost and low cut it... Def not what it was like before where I had to cut all that off to save myself from the treble. MB500 just made it sound like bass guitar no thrills.

This one did well, but needs work as it still has noise of it's own above the standard excess noise heard in all trials of all the options... It's literally just pickup>jack and no grounds shielding or pots so there's holes too. I've been waiting and was gonna install the real wiring, maybe the bridge mini, supertone bridge and flats all at once when I got the time. As it stands it did well in both amps, the 800rb still lacked definition but this bass has such rich deep tone it kinda lent itself to it. MB500 was very articulate and really showed what the pickup was about, but the GIVE boost thing was kinda hit or miss really fun playing Helter Skelter and getting dirty but I'd be kinda sad if that was my tone all the time. Regardless the bass is probably a keeper as it just has something no other bass does I've found yet.

This was my last bass to play and need to be asleep but gerderm it's been a while since I played a long scale, a p bass or fresh strings so even though I play over the neck and finger style this shite was bright n clanky. The neck is a dream and I was gliding around to Helter skelter again with ease surprisingly having not been near such a "long n meaty" neck since probably 2010. 800RB was a blast with such bright new strings and no tone pot it got a lot of definition where the others lost out (still worried about that, but maybe it's the dirty old peavey cab?). The MB500 was yummy although clank was driving me batty towards the end of the test, Not being a rounds guy (who only has rounds on his basses??) I always have to remind myself in the mix that's not terrible of your into that thing and it fits.
Over all I'll wait until I get back from South Carolina on the 17th but I think I'm more partial to the MB500 at least now. Its just a much more articulate base tone and more headroom to boot. I feel it would handle pedals better, but I can't say til I try next week. I still need to play with the boost/give circuit I don't really understand it and it didn't seem to have a very big sweep. Kinda ran into od/distortion way sooner with out much transition, meanwhile the 800rb boost has more range, but seemed to do less extreme OD at the max end.
I'm deadly curious to get my dually and an orange TB1000 to figure it out better I am tired of underperforming cabs dictating the final tone, I literally hate to think how many badass pieces of gear I traded and sold away probably due to crappy cabs I was dealing with.
Pedals I'll be using next time will be my full set of 90's metal box danelectro pedals dist>od>chorus>delay.

Yea hopefully, that'll be some good project time/if family shows up drag the cool ones out to do that while the others chatter elsewhere. Anytime I'm bored at a party or holiday I'd always take people upstairs and talk music at them to keep myself entertained.
What kinda settings did you go with when you had the mb500? I think it's time I buy all the parts and strings I need for my basses so I can actually have them where I want them when stuff starts to come together.
Also I finally got to open your case/package. I can use everything but the case so far, that's the weirdest shaped case I've ever seen, I'll see what the bass vi will do when I get it, but dang it's offset to the extreme.

Got a pedal question. So I use a Pharaoh for my fuzz but I'm finding it a little too smooth and straight forward. I'm looking for something that gets a little more nasty. I'm wanting something that has some crackle. I had a Verellen big spider and loved how it sizzles like bacon cooking. If it wasn't for the fact that it destroyed my lows I'd still have it. Thanks for the input.

Grey Stache and the Pickle Pie can have quite a bit of sizzle. Or you could add a B3K with the Pharaoh. Pedals that I haven't tried but I think coukd work are The Elements, Oxide or Musket.
I had a B3K. I honestly didn't get what all the hype was about. Definitely didn't think it was worth the price of admission. Sold it and never looked back. I've read the stache was voiced a little bright. I could be completely wrong about that though. I like dark and doomy with cutting mids.
I misunderstood what you meant by crackle. Look at the baby thundaa or TAFM. And I wasn't a fan of the b3k either but it did sound better when stacked with something else.
You will definitely not regret it.After I bought my ric,I didn't use the T-40 for much,but it looks like it's going to be in use on the next record,and the live stuff to follow it.
