Stoner/Doom Bassists Thread, Part 90: Maxed Out

Pup-date: She seems to be over her fear of my band room. Today she sat in my lap as I attempted to play bass, licking my fingers and the fretboard constantly. Put a new challenge on my bass playing abilities, before I gave up after a few minutes and just played with her. Glad she's happy, though! She seems really into staring at cables, though, which is a bit worrying. Never bit one, but curious.
In other news, I snagged an ODB-3 and CEB-3 nice and cheap off the classifieds. Should do me for my chorus, and together they were cheaper than many of the other chorus options I'd been considering. Maybe I'll flip the dirt and get the chorus super cheap or something. Who knows?
One more question - I'm using my Digitech BSW solely as an octave pedal right now. It's pretty decent, very synthy. Any other cheap octave pedals out there? I feel like I could do more with the BSW, but I don't need anything but an octaver right now, so I feel I could probably get a better dedicated octave pedal cheap. I'm NOT looking boutique or anything like that, hoping to stay around $40 as it's not an oft used effect for me, mostly just for messing around. Used or new doesn't matter. Thanks as always!

It will cost a few bucks more, but you should look for a used OC-2. Fantastic octaver, my favorite in fact. They can be had used for 50-60 if you watch for them, maybe cheaper.
Lol I think the skin and nastiness on the fretboard is like a delicacy to them.
I think $40 used anything from behringer to mooer. It's all gonna be oc-2/3 clones and maybe a micro pog like the mooer.
Yea it's an analog octave from like the 80's-early 2000's?
Now there's an OC-3 it's digital. It also has a polyphonic mode and a dirt mode with a built in DS-1 I think.
I've only used the OC-3 but it was cool when I had it. Duo sonic with lipstick pickups into the dirt/octave blend into classic 30 was a really good tone.
the distortion and od effects on the korg beat boy really great through the sony v6 headphones and the rockit 5 monitors, however through the mesa they make the bass sound pretty much like a nasty deep guitar, kinda strange, i'm just gonna play clean at the show on friday, got too many other things to worry about right now
Thanks for the suggestions! I'll check into the Boss and clones and see what's happening. Are any of these synthier or more analog sounding than the others? I'm thinking I might try a more analog octave sound. (If that's possible? I know NOTHING about octave pedals, just messed with my BSW and saw that was one fun kind of pedal I didn't have on the board, so went with it. Kinda fun now that I have it!)
Ordered an Fdeck s3 tonight at like 5pm and it has already been marked as shipped.
Wow that was fast. Dually incoming on Tuesday and I'd imagine the Fdeck will be here Tuesday or Wednesday. Tempe on Friday for Tool and Primus Saturday. Going to spend most of Friday in Sedona.

Visit Jerome while you're in the neighborhood. Really cool old mining town perched precariously on the side of a mountain. (Also where Maynard lives and the location of his winery).

Is it far from Tempe/Sedona? Originally we wanted to see the canyon as I haven't seen anything like that out west, but it would have been way to much travel time between airport wait, flight time, getting rental/hotel figured out and driving 7 hours round trip. We would have been able to enjoy the place for like an hour, so we settled on Sedona.
It's about 45 miles from Sedona, just a quick hop down the highway.
Also, Oak Creek Canyon is right outside of Sendona, there's lots of natural forest picnic and campground areas that are really nice.

I found several sources this weekend that said the real original les Paul "SG" custom was wired neck - middle/bridge in phase - middle/bridge out of phase. Only neck and bridge have volume and tone, middle is straight through. So it was actually the same if not less complicated than a standard SG, just slightly unhinged. The PAF pickups didn't really do the wiring justice.
So I'm gonna contact gfs, see if mean 90's are reverse wound. If so I'm gonna get two neck and one bridge version and do that wiring. P90's should bring more nasty to that wiring.

Sedona is awesome, Jerome is cool, there are spots in the Superstition mtns closer to Phoenix that are nearly just as rad, just make a plan and enjoy where you're at while you're there, don't rush around too much trying to be everywhere.
Got my grade for my living hell accelerated algebra class, got a B, which is amazing considering I bombed the hell out of the final. So that's a load off, was already trying to get used to the idea of repeating the class (or raising so much hell with the worthless instructor that he changed my grade).
So I've been reading about micro campers you can pull behind a bike. Thus can be pulled by a scooter/cycle or put in a truck bed.
Was thinking if you made a slider frame of the trailer, similar to an RV you could start with a 3'x4'x3' mobile structure that expands outwards to a 6' wide, 8' long and 6' tall room. Wood and aluminum frame. Then walls are a sandwich of an industrial foil, coroplast and 1/2" rigid insulation board.
