In the market for a new bass. Tried a Strandberg that a friend owns and loved the feel/body along with the fanned frets. However, I don't like the price. I've been searching for other basses that have the similar cutaway style body but have been coming up short. Any suggestions on where else to look or is this pretty much just a Strandberg thing?
not so radical but the new Ibby headless is in the same ballpark I think Ibanez Bass Workshop EHB1505MS Bass Guitar - Tropical Seafloor Flat
Agreed on the Strandberg price being a little optimistic for what it is and where it is produced. Your best bets for something similar will be Kiesel and Ibanez.
Both are good options that I have looked at. I feel like I can get a full custom Kiesel for the same or even less than a factory Strandberg. Hoping I can find some in person to try out before making the purchase. Who would have thought that I would be considering an Ibanez over more boutique models?
