Strange amp problem...

I have a Peavey T-Max 500 bass amp. It's worked perfectly it's whole life until tonight.

When I turn on the power, the fan spins but nothing else works. No sound, not even the power light goes on. I've checked the fuse's and they all seem fine and I couldn't see any connections loose...

I live 3 hours from the nearest music store so I'm hoping someone on here might have some ideas.

Cheers

without the schematic it's hard to tell, but it may have an internal fuse in addition to the circuit breaker. if it does have one and the it's blown, it would have that symptom but there's a reason that it blew. it's always best to find out what caused it. you could replace the fuse with the stock amperage rating and if it blows again, it's time for an amp tech.

To make sure, what circuit does not work, try this:

Take another amp (or even an active bass) and plug into "Power Amp In". If anythings happenes, Your poweramp is OK.

Than get another amp, get out the TMax at "PreAmp Out" or "Effects Send". Get this connected with another Amp - carefully! If you now get sound, it's a matter of the Poweramp.

Are You sure that Your instrument-cable is working? Did You use a passive bass or an active bass with empty battery?

If the things I described do not work, it will be the best to get the amp to somebody qualified.

Good luck!
