Alembic Dragonwing, very cool. Looks like an awesome specimen. If the price is right, you might just have to jump on it. Not many of them out there.

Not sure if it's right at $10,999. but it sure looks good, and I'm not even a fan of unusual-shaped basses.
I’m not an Alembic person, but that one is beautiful. I like your ‘Pine Barrens’ reference. The bass is devilish.
If I'm not mistaken, this bass has the signature electronics package. Volume, low pass filter and q switch for each pickup, all in mono. These electronics really get to the Alembic sound, just short of Series electronics. I'm guessing the extra switch is for side LEDs. All of this in a really stylish package.
The Alembic market is pretty crazy right now. If you are looking for a brand new model, even basic, non Series models are $10k or more. Given this, sellers are kind of shooting for the moon with used pieces. Unless this bass was built recently, I would be very surprised the original owner spent anywhere close to $11k on this Dragonwing. That being said, this is a unique bass and it comes down to how much you value it. I bet it sounds awesome. Probably is at least worth checking out.

I played one of these years ago and I remember it being as heavy as a truck. Awesome looking though.
Alembics are generally heavy by nature. I guess it is just part of the charm. My Alembic is easily the heaviest of all of my basses. No problem here.

What's in the two non-standard looking pick up positions? The ones that don't have "Alembic" printed on them.
