Strange sound

Howdy. I recently purchased a SWR Goliath Junior III 2x10. There is a strange sound when I play the B string on my bass. It sounds like the B string goes from it's regular volume to a muted volume and back again, like a wave going up and down. This only happens with the B string.

What is this strange sound problem???

Does moving the EQ around on the amp effect the sound (like taking the bass down etc)?

I'm going back to the place I bought it from first thing tomorrow. This time, I'm going to pay more attention when I test the cab.
