Couple of 4" Planet Waves nylon ones,a 3" padded one from Thomann and 4 x 4" plain leather from a place outside of Glasgow. However when the bass numbers got out of control I needed other options. Luckily an Edinburgh firm started importing 3" PU patent leather style straps from China (Rock-It brand),at £4 each they fit the bill.

Must have 36 of those Rock-It ones :)

Hmm, mine go an honest 52" eye-to-eye fully extended and laying on the floor. Add maybe another inch with a bass hanging on it. Not enough? Don't know why my numbers are different than theirs but there you go. EDIT just looked at Neotech site for the skinny. They now make one (Mega strap long) that goes to 56". Same 4" wide jobbie but longer.

That might inspire me to give it a shot. But is it all bouncy and stretchy? That won't inspire me so much.

I have the neoprene version on my #1 right now. It will be moving to my second bass when I upgrade to the leather one. Besides the utility of the design, the construction is impressive. The use of threaded inserts and screws is the most elegant solution for adjustment I've run across.

No, it's not like you're using a bungee cord lol. If you push down on your bass it will move, but not very much. It's more like a shock absorber. When I first got one about 6(?) years ago the flexibility amused me for a few minutes, then I never noticed it again. It's quite nice. The cinch loop doesn't slip. And it's held up to 5 or 6 years of 20-30 weddings a year plus all the other nonsense I do. No wear. Nice piece IMO.

Good to hear. I like the idea of them. Almost ordered one, but read a review of the long strap that says if you adjust it to be long, the thin part of the pad goes over your shoulder instead of the fat part and you can actually run out of padding. Looks like in the pic that that's exactly what could happen, too. Would like to get my hands on one to try it, but don't think I'm willing to drop $30 to try it out. Got a box full of "comfortable" straps that were anything but.

You will love the leather one. How is the neoprene version? May want one for a backup or for my fretless 5.

I am with OP on Couch. All recycled, USA made, no animal products, and a very cool, grassroots SoCal company to boot. USPS "lost" a strap they sent me. One email to Couch asking if it had been shipped revealed it had, 12 days earlier. They just sent me another one no questions asked. Very genuine custormer service..

About 3 months later I received one of those "damaged mail" plastic bags. Inside were the remnents of my original order, an ripped opened package, sticker and brochure but no strap. I keep my eyes peeled for a bass playing postman.

Very surprised to see only ONE post for Levy's MSS2-4. Hard to imagine that there is a nicer or more comfortable strap out there. But based on the posts here, I guess there are a couple that seem worth looking into, so I'll try and check them out, just to compare.
