You can get generic ones from local beer making stores / wine stores.

Hey Dave (Thunderitter), yes, the locks are pretty cheap, but I am really needing to not spend even that amount as things will be very tight for us this summer. So the rubber washers are the solution for now at least. I bought an extra one in case one rips in taking it on and off, but probably I will just leave the strap on. I have not tried to see how it fits in the case yet... But the washers go on and off pretty easily and did not seem very close to ripping at all...
Strap locks for the cash strapped

I would think if you can afford the two beers you need for the washers, then you can instead use that same amount of cash to buy a set of straplocks.

So Schallers are a direct replacement? I see various videos on youtube of people drillling. Not that I can't operate a drill, just don't feel like it. I'd rather get rubber "fender" washers.
Do what works for you for strap locks -- just DONT use duct *DUCT* tape! Gawd I HATE that crap! Whoever started that needs kicked.
Fixed.
You are totally right. I saw a ad for a G&L bass with a guy that had duct taped it all up. Murder to a nice bass.
Dimarzio Straplocks ftw. Especially in the new NEON colors! I've got a lime green one.
Not sure if this is the best location, but it seemed most logical to me.
I had heard that Grosch Beer replacement gaskets made good strap locks and it gave me the idea yesterday to go to Home Depot to see if they had any rubber washers or rubber small gaskets. They did! And they are known as "Fender" washers, go figure! Anyway, for 75 cents each, they work perfectly. I'll post a pic when I get a chance.
A
Al, these days you can pick-up Schallers at GC for $12.99 using price match, not really expensive.
How easy is it to get your strap on and off with the washers on?
Of course you can save even more money and fit the ultimate grunge strap-lock, duct/gaffa tape!
