Straplocks - impact on value?

I just got a practically new 1983 Fender American Standard Precision (http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/nbd-special-edition-986672/). I am not 100% sure if the strap buttons are original or not as they seem to be Schaller strap locks. The bass was not necessarily purchased as an investment in its future value, but I wanted to know the thoughts of the group: if I put Dunlop locks on, will that impact the resale value? I will keep the Schaller buttons that are on now in the case. Not a huge deal, just curious more than anything.

It's a completely reversible mod so no affect at all.

+1. If you keep the original strap buttons it's a reversible mod. No worries.

Those originally came on a 1983 Fender.

My issue is that the Dunlop screw seems a little wider than the standard hole meaning the originals may be a little loose ...

Zip. Even recessed locks aren't a big deal.
