I'm using Ibanez basses & LTD guitars, so they came with over-sized buttons.
It still surprises me to see $2K Fenders with the worst straps buttons in history.

I tried the rubber washers on Fender-style strap buttons & in my case the washer just bound the strap up & caused it to work the screw loose. So, never doing that again! G&L's buttons don't require the washer, because they're over-sized & a better design.
I sold the RIC 4004, because it was too heavy & neck too thick,
sold the G&L ASAT, because of the neck dive.
